Annabelle S. Sweigart, 85

Annabelle Squibb Sweigart, 85, of 1927 William Penn Way, Lancaster, died Wednesday at her residence.  She was the wife of the late Eugene H. Sweigart, with whom she enjoyed 44 years of marriage prior to his death on February 17, 1987.

Born in Douglassville, PA, on December 25, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Milton H. and Lillie Squibb Herbein.

She will be deeply missed by her son Donald, grandchildren Donald and Krista, great-grandchildren Trenton and Alexa, and sister Dorothy.  She was preceded in death by her sister Betty Weiser and brothers Robert, James, and Raymond Herbein.

Annabelle was a graduate of Amity High School.  In addition to being a homemaker, she and her husband operated a poultry business in Fivepointville, PA, for 17 years, and they later operated a boat rental business in Perryville, MD, for 26 years.  She enjoyed tending her garden, swimming and boating, and playing tennis and basketball in her younger years.  She also loved animals and doted on her faithful dog, Gizmo.
