Anna Stefanow, 88

Anna Stefanow, 88, of Strasburg, passed away peacefully, Monday, September 19, 2016, at Mennonite Home. Born in Hazelton, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Kuda) Mardyniak. Anna was the loving wife of 62 years to the late Felix J. Stefanow, who died in 2009.
Anna was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She was a talented seamstress, wonderful cook, and loved to work jigsaw puzzles. More than anything else, Anna loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Anna is survived by her four children: James (Roberta) Stefanow, of Strasburg; Lois Ann (Fernando) Moura, of Douglasville, PA; Robert F. (Barbara) Stefanow, of Lancaster; and Felicia Ann (Chris) Mueller, of Washington. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Alyson (Patrick) Dreer; Meredith Ann (Michael) Tropp; Amie Michelle (Jason) Fink; Kenneth James (Tonya) Stefanow; Owen (Jessica) Stefanow; Paul James (Kaitlyn) Stefanow; and Harrison Michael Stefanow; 22 great-grandchildren; and a brother Michael (Mary) Mardyniak, of Hazleton. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six siblings: Mary Sebia, Bernadine Roman, Lucy Petrovich, and John, Joseph, and Thomas Mardyniak.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11AM, Friday, September 23, 2016, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602, with Rev. Daniel O’Brien as Celebrant. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the Mass from 10-11AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Anna’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Dr., Lancaster, PA 17603 or to St. Anthony Catholic Church at the address above.
