Ann A. Steinbaecher, 96
Ann A. “Grandma” Haines Steinbaecher, 96, of Lancaster passed away at Susquehanna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Friday, September 12th, 2008. Born in Central City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna T. ( Harchick) Yelovich. Ann was married to E. Herbert Haines who passed away in 1948 and she married, Harry Steinbaecher in 1968 who passed away in 1991.
Mrs. Steinbaecher was employed as a Quality Control Inspector in the Tube Dept. for R.C.A. She retired after over seventeen years of service. She was a Co-Founder of the Senior Citizen Group (Friendship Club) at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, chartered in 1973. She was a Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 867 and Lancaster Leiderkranz. She enjoyed dancing the polka, boating, cooking, baking and Crocheting. The family was the center of Ann’s Life. She was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.
Surviving is her son James R. Haines Sr. married to Diane L. of Lancaster, step daughter, Helen Wood of Lancaster, grandson, James R. Haines Jr. of Lancaster, great grand children, Morgan Ann and Jason Riley Haines, ten step grandchildren and numerous step great grand children, three brothers, Robert Young of York, Michael Young of Florida and Peter Yelovich of Central City, PA, two sisters Margaret Sodosky of Millersville and Agnes Johnson of North Carolina, several nieces and nephews. Ann is predeceased by three brothers Mark Yelovich, John Yelovich and George Young.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave, Lancaster, 17601 on Wednesday, September 17th, 2008. There will be a viewing from 9-11AM with Mass at 11AM, with Rev. Peter I Hahn as Celebrant. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman.
