Ali M. Fausnaught, 19

April 17, 2013

Ali M. Fausnaught, 19, of Brownstown, PA, passed away unexpectedly in Philadelphia, PA on Wednesday April 17, 2013. She was born in Lancaster, PA on September, 16, 1993 and was the loving daughter of Donald I. D.M.D. and Tara (Ruoff) Fausnaught and amazing sister to Zachary Fausnaught.  She was truly the spirit of the family.

Ali graduated from Conestoga Valley High School in 2012, was a star on the Conestoga Valley tennis team, an officer for the Future Business Leaders Association (FBLA), a member of the Interact Club, a CV Scholar Athlete and a member of the Homecoming Court.

She grew up attending Zion Lutheran Church of Leola and was a volunteer at Corner of Hope, the church’s clothing bank in Leola.

Ali was so full of life. She was social and vibrant, and known for her contagious laugh.  She loved hanging with her family and friends, shopping, visiting the beach, baking, eating ice cream, and was known as a “foodie”. Her smile will be unforgettable.

Ali’s favorite Bible verse was Joshua 1:9 “Be strong and courageous, do not be terrified, do not be discouraged; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

XOXO

Surviving in addition to her parents and brother, are loving maternal grandparents, Maria, wife of David Ruoff, of Wyomissing, paternal grandmother, Mildred Fausnaught, of Danville, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and her boyfriend. When I heard what had happened, I couldn’t believe it, didnt want to believe it. I knew Ali, I graduated with her. She was such a beautiful person, she would always make u smile n her laugh was hysterical. I’m so glad I had the pleasure of knowing Ali even though it was for a short period. Anybody who knew Ali came to love her. My prayers n thoughts are with you guys and just remember that one day shortly we will all see her again. Revelation 21:4 speaks when these things won’t have to happen anymore and what a blessing that will be when that time comes. I’m very truly sorry and saddened that this happened.
      With much love,

The Paul Mondock Family

During last week’s horrific events in our country, learning of Ali’s accident suddenly made everything so personal.  I was devastated to learn of her passing and am heartbroken for your family.

My special memories of Ali are of a beautiful, sweet little blonde girl sitting in my second grade classroom.  She was an inquisitive, delightful child with a huge smile, many friends, and a desire to do well and please her teacher.  Her warm and loving personality shined through even then.  She was one of those students you wished you could teach for more than one year.  I will always remember her many talents and be thankful to have been a small part of her life.

May your own special memories help to sustain you through this painful time.  Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

-Sean Reynolds and St. Joseph Health Ministries

The loss of your daughter has affected me very much.  We can not imagine the level of grief and sadness that you are experiencing, its any parents worst nightmare.  We did not know her, but it’s obvious she was very beautiful inside and out. The only peace you can have is knowing she is in heaven now and that she will never suffer. You gave her a wonderful life and she had nothing but joy and happiness in her short life here on Earth. To know this horrible accident took her from you, you are now suffering, but you must be comforted to know that she never did suffer.  She has reached our ultimate goal in this life, which is to reach eternal life with Christ in the Kingdom of Heaven.  Time is the only thing that will make this bearable.  We will continue to pray for your strength and peace.

With deepest sympathy,
Susie & Steve Kirchner

Tara, Don, Zach and all of Ali’s family and friends. Bill and I were at the Celebration of Ali’s Life this morning. What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful young lady. We wish we would have known her as I feel a void that there was someone that spectacular and I never got to experience her joyous and infectious presence. You have so many people whose lives you all have touched which was evident by the remarkable turnout for the Celebration of Ali.

Tara and Don, We were at the ceremony with Sharon Schlager and Becky Shelby. Mike Schlager asked that I pass along his sympathy and let you know he has been praying for Ali and your family. We were all moved by the beautiful tribute that was put together in honor of Ali. Tara you are as beautiful as I remember and Don you are as handsome. Words spoken about Ali brought up incredible memories that I have of both of you. Tara, I always thought of you lighting up a room with your sparkling smile and your infectious laugh. Don, we all said that pictures of Ali being silly reminded us of you as well as your knack for embellishing stories. Her knack for drama that all characterized her as displaying is in my memories of the both of you.

I will reach out to you in the near future. I know you have to be so overwhelmed with all of the recent events. It is just important for me to tell you again that I have not had a day go by since Ali’s passing that you haven’t been in my head and heart. Same goes for my Billy D.

Please take care of yourselves and thank you for that reminder of how precious moments are with loved ones. I definitely left with the heartfelt urging to let petty thoughts and ill will behind. Treasure the ability to live and love life.

My love to you, Tina Dougherty

Tara and Family,

Tara, Don, family, and friends,

It is with shock and disbelief that I am posting this. Our hearts have been heavy since learning of Ali’s passing on Wednesday evening. Our immediate thoughts turned to you all and the tremendous loss you are mourning. We are grieving with you…we loved Ali too! Sari described her as genuine and I think that was a perfect word to describe her as it didn’t matter who you were, she was nice to you and accepting of you as her peer and friend. She truly was the sweetest girl I can think of from the class of 2012. Sari laughs when she thinks about the time that Ali and Victoria came to our house to watch our pets while we were away for a weekend. We needed them to let Sandy out a couple of times a day. We have an evil cat that hisses at people she doesn’t know well and the girls were petrified of her and brought a bat  along with them when they came here to let the dog out…just in case the cat got out of hand, haha. We hope you can find peace and comfort in those type of memories with time. Right now, it is probably hard to believe that anything will bring peace and comfort but in time, you will find ways to look back without so many tears. We love you all and cannot describe adequately the depth of pain we are feeling for you all and with you all. Tara, I would love to spend time with you if you would like. If you ever need a friend to just listen, I am here and desperately want to help in any way I can…please let me know. Our family is very, very sorry for you loss!

Love to all of you,
Lorie, George Longabaugh, Robby, Sari DeBusk (Brownstown)

To the family of ALI

Did not know Ali, but granddaughter Danielle Boyer, a classsmate of Ali’s, 2012 at CV and a cheerleader like Ali, feel your pain as Parents. I lost a son in December of 1975 at age 24, then this past Dec. 3, 3 days after her 58th birthday, my daugher Jeanie died suddenly.

NO Parent should be burying their child/ren. Knowing that she is with God and a beautiful Angel in Heaven. Your Faith will help you get thru this tragedy and loss, but do know many as myself are praying for your strength in the loss of Ali. MAY SHE REST IN PEACE IN THE ARMS OF THE LORD.

Dr. Fausnaught;

I well remember you speaking so highly of your girl, so my heart is so very heavy for you. A scripture that was meaningful to me when I experienced a sudden loss is found in Isaiah 43:2&3: "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior." Your family will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Don and Tara, Our hearts have been so heavy upon hearing the tragic news about your beautiful daughter Ali. We are so sad for you both, Zachary and the rest of your family. I read her obit and even though I didn’t know her I know from her description that she embodied the spirits of both of you. Anything I have to say just seems to sound so cliche. Just know that Bill and I have not been able to get you off our minds. I wish you didn’t have to suffer this loss or feel this unfathomable level of grief. Please take care of yourselves and may your faith help you get through the despair.

Love,
Tina and Bill Dougherty

I am so very sorry for the loss of Ali. There are no words when someone looses a child or a grandchild. I too lost a child and I just wanted you to know that I am sending you love and strength for the days ahead. This quote gives me some comfort which is why I am sharing it.

“We cannot, after all, judge a biography by its length, by the number of pages in it; we must judge by the richness of the contents…Sometimes the ‘unfinisheds’ are among the most beautiful symphonies.” Viltor Frankl

May the music of your lovely Ali’s life continue to echo in the lives of all who love her as you remember her

The Fausnaughts-
I didn’t personally know any of you, but my father use to do work for you many many years ago Dr. Fausnaught (he is a lab technician – RK Prosthetics), and I was a dentist assistant for Dr. Jeff Dever so I heard about this and your names sounded familiar. Also, I attend Temple University and graduated from Ephrata so I thought I must of known of Ali through mutual friends somewhere. Then, when I saw the picture of your family, you all looked very familiar. But I still couldn’t figure out where I knew you from. Then I remembered a few years back when I worked at Planet Fitness in Ephrata, I specifically remember your family coming in to work out. The reason why I specifically remembered your family was for a few different reasons. The main reason is because you came in together-which I found so, so cute. But it wasn’t just that- it was the energy you carried together as a family. I cannot stress to you enough how much I admired this.  I personally never had that experience in my family, and I remembered how witnessing that honestly touched my heart. I also remember thinking of how beautiful Mrs. Fausnaught and Ali are. Like I said, I didn’t personally know you, and probably only shared a few quick small-talk chats with you at the gym, but in those few brief encounters checking you in at the front desk, your family’s bond, energy, and love was felt and shined light all around. So much love and condolences for you and your family.

Donny & Family,

Can’t imagine what you’re going through, as I have two daughters of my own.  Our heart felt sympathies, thoughts, and prayers are with you.

Dear Tara & Family,

I am so sorry for your loss. Tara, I can only imagine that Ali was as sweet and beautiful and as spirited as you were at her age and lit up the room as soon as you walked in to it. Please know that she is in a beautiful place now making her way to get her Angel Wings. You will feel her presence around you in a lifetime to come by a gentle touch on your shoulder, the smell of her perfume to a song on the radio that you will know is Ali saying "Hello, I’m right here." Please keep your faith and understand the urgency of our Lord needing Ali right away. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family & friends during this sad time and always.

Bless you all!
Robin (Hartman) Werner

Dear Tara and Family,

It has been so many years since I’ve seen you, but your tragic news made its way to me in North Carolina. I can’t imagine anything could provide comfort at this time, but please know that I’m thinking of you. Tara, I remember your grandmother Ruoff talking about Ali and their close relationship at a church brunch I attended with my mother years ago. Maybe you can find some comfort in imagining them together now. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
