Agnes H. Kelec

Agnes H. Kelec, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Hamilton Arms. Agnes was born in Turtle Creek, PA in Allegheny County and was the daughter of the late Alex and C. Mary (Teti) Garrison.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Joseph Robert Kelec, Sr. in 1992 who was the former head golf pro at Conestoga Country Club. She is survived by her second husband, Richard Kennedy.

Agnes retired after 23 years from the Slaymaker Lock Company. Upon retirement she continued to keep herself busy and held jobs as a bartender at VFW Post #1690, a cook a Valentino’s Café, kitchen help at Lombardo’s and as a crossing guard for the City of Lancaster.

She was a member of the 8th Ward Club, Lancaster AMVETS, and VFW Post #1690. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Jo Ann Bear (companion David Irwin) of Lancaster, Roberta Swayne (wife of the late Martin Swayne, Jr.) of Lancaster, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a sister, M. Ginny Dolby, of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph R. Kelec, Jr. (husband of Becky Kelec) in 2014.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory 414 E. King St. Lancaster, PA 17602 at 11AM with The Rev. Michael Messner officiating. Friends and family are invited to a viewing from 10-11AM at Snyder. Interment will be held in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hamilton Arm c/o Activities for Residents 336 S. West End Ave. Lancaster, PA 17603
