Planning
a Funeral Service
Funeral services are tailored toward personal requests
at the funeral home, family residence, or at a place
convenient to the family. The service can be a traditional
religious ceremony or a more contemporary service, depending
on the family's wishes.
Because
every individual is unique, every funeral service should
also be unique. From the type of casket to the style
of prayer cards, to the music that is chosen, The Charles
F. Snyder Funeral Home has been personalizing funerals
since 1947 by offering families choices. Our state of
the art sound and video systems play cassettes, CDs
or even a personal video presentation on VHS or DVD. Custom memorial
folders are printed with a picture and a verse or poem.

Memory
Boards and Displays
Families are encouraged to bring in
special items in memory of their loved one. Photos, hobbies
and special interest items are displayed using magnetic picture
boards, corkboards and presentation tables, which encourage
friends and family to commemorate and reminisce the life of
their loved one.
Memory Videos
The funeral home offers a Memory Video that incorporates family
photos with music. The video is generally shown during the
visitation period, becoming an invaluable treasure to the
family.
Share
a Memory
Special note cards are provided for funeral guests to write
their special memories to share with the family. The cards
are gathered and presented to the family following the service.
Special Music
If the funeral service is held at the funeral home, we have
the ability to play background music, as well as music for
the service through our sound system; we are both cassette
tape and compact disc compatible. If the service is held at
a church, please speak with your funeral director or clergyperson
about any special requests.
We also have requests for bagpipers or other musicians to
be present at the interment services at the cemetery; again,
let us know if this is of interest. We can also provide an
electronic keyboard for a service at the funeral home.
Luncheons
Many families have luncheons or get-togethers following funeral
services. We will be glad to assist you with arranging your
luncheon, either in your home, at a restaurant or club, or
in your church.
Ceremonies
for Veterans
We can assist you with all branches of military services for
deceased Veterans and help to arrange full military honors,
if eligible. At the graveside services or at the conclusion
of services if there is no interment, a relative of the veteran
is presented with the flag. The spouse or eldest child of
the veteran is the customary recipient. If there is a desire
to have a particular person receive the flag, the funeral
director should be informed before the conclusion of these
services. The
Red Rose Honor Guard can be requested to attend the service
to fold and present the flag or have a bugler play "Taps".
