Wilmer H. Zimmerman Sr., 71, of Columbia, passed away on February 4, 2011 at LGH. He was born in Lancaster to the late John and Mary (Heisey) Zimmerman.

Wilmer is survived by his companion of 20 years, Kathy Herr, of Columbia.

Wilmer was a carpenter and was self employed. He owned and operated Will's Remodeling.

He served his country with the US Navy from 1958-1961.

Wilmer was a graduate of Manheim Township High School. He was a member of the Lancaster Elks Lodge #134 and AMVETS. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and family gatherings.

Surviving in addition to his companion is one daughter and three sons, Cathy J. O'Donel, wife of Terry, of Doylesburg, William John Zimmerman, husband of Stephanie, of Millersville, Wilmer H. Zimmerman, Jr., husband of Laurie D., of Lancaster, Wayne H. Zimmerman, companion of Lisa Clouse, of Newville, step-son, Tom Coyle, Jr., of Harrisburg, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, two brothers Victor Zimmerman, of Newmanstown and Harlan Zimmerman, of Leola, and a former wife Jacqueline G. (Myers) Witman. He was preceded in death by a brother Elmer Zimmerman in 2006.

Funeral Services will be on Thursday, February 10, 2011 from the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory 441 N. George St. Millersville, PA 17551 at 1pm with The Rev. William C. Melone officiating. A viewing will be from 11am-1pm on Thursday at Snyder's. Interment will take place in Conestoga Memorial Park with Military Honors.
