Clarence
M. "Willy" Williams, 88, of Mount Joy passed away peacefully
surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at his
home. Born in Lancaster he was the son of the late Clarence M.
Williams and Blanche (Moore) Gertler.
Willy is
survived by his wife Beverly (Jarvis) Williams of 40 years.
Willy served
with the US Army in WWII as a Bridge Builder on the front line and
was a Platoon Corporal.
He attended
The Bridge United Methodist Church in Mount Joy.
Willy retired
from Armstrong World Industries as a stencil maker.
He was a
former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Lancaster City.
He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, traveling, the shore, and
cooking.
Surviving in
addition to his wife are 9 children; 3 sons, C. Gary Williams,
husband of Bonnie Axe, Lancaster, Mike Willems, Mount Joy, Karl
Willems, husband of Karen, Lancaster, 6 daughters; Kathi Colbert,
wife of Steve, Charlotte, NC, Cindy Thatcher, Lancaster, Terri
Teaman, wife of Denny, Paradise, Trudy Williams, Chesterbrook,
Beth Berndt, wife of Marty, Lancaster, Tina Hooven, wife of Mike,
Indianapolis, IN, 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1
great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister,
Bertha Williams.
Funeral
Services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Charles F.
Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory 3110 Lititz Pk. at 11am with
son-in-law Michael Hooven officiating. A viewing will be held at
Snyder's from 9:30-11am. Interment will be in the Millersville
Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making
