Gladys C. Solem, 86, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011 at Lancaster General Hospital.  Born in Queens, New York, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Sally (Nelson) Egland.  Gladys was the wife of the late Sigfred Solem.

Gladys is survived by four children: a daughter, Karen (Solem) Forman, wife of Charles; a son, Robert Solem, husband of Sidonie; a daughter, Deb Solem; and a son, Steven Solem.  Gladys was a proud grandmother of Nicole Solem.  She was the beloved sister of Mildred Stehle and Edwin Egland and sister-in-law to Marie Egland and Esther Martin.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Faith Bible Fellowship Church, 151 Donerville Rd, Lancaster, PA 17603, at 7 PM with Pastor David Thomann officiating.  Family and Friends will be received from 6-7 PM Thursday at Church.  Interment will be at 11 AM on Friday, July 8, 2011 at Pinelawn Memorial Park & Garden Mausoleums, 2030 Wellwood Ave., Farmingdale, NY 11756.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Arthritis Foundation, PO Box 96280, Washington D.C. 20077-7491 or www.arthritis.org in memory of Gladys.  To send the family online condolences, please visit SnyderFuneralHome.com.  Charles F.
