Harry
B. Rohrer, 87, of Lititz died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at
Landis Homes. Born in East Petersburg, Pa, he was the son of the
late Harry G. and Ada Bowers Rohrer. Harry was married to Gloria
A. Shirey Rohrer for 66 years.
Harry was Vice
President of Meadowbrook Products and retired in 1988. Previously
he worked as a sales representative for Lancaster Threaded
Products.
He was a
graduate of Coyne Electrical School in San Diego, CA. He served in
the US Navy during World War II on the USS Nevada during the
invasion of Normandy.
Harry was a
member and very active at the Pearl Street United Methodist Church
in Lancaster, PA, before moving to Landis Homes. He was a Boy
Scout Leader for many years.
His hobbies
included oil and watercolor painting. Cards with oil paintings
reproductions of Harry's are sold at Landis Homes in the gift
shop.
Surviving
besides his wife, is a son: Thomas S. husband of Leanne Rohrer,
West Palm Beach, Fl., a daughter: Debra L. wife of John Battaglia,
Thornton, Co., two grandchildren: Aaron husband of Amber Rohrer,
and Brandon Battaglia, and one great grandchild, Austin
Rohrer.
He is also
survived by a sister, Betty J. wife of Samuel Zerphy, Quarryville
and a brother, Robert ( Gene ) husband of Sandy Rohrer,
Elizabethtown, PA.
A Funeral
Service will be held at East Bethany Chapel, Landis Homes, 1001 E.
Oregon Road, Lititz, PA on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 2:00PM
with the Rev. Glenn Metzler officiating. Interment will be private
at Silver Spring Cemetery.
Friends may
pay their respect to the family from 1- 2:00PM on Saturday at East
Bethany Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in
Harry's memory to the Caring Fund at Landis Homes. To send online
