Albert
Kenneth Rodgers, 75, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, December
4, 2011 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Salunga, PA,
he was the son to the late Albert and Irene (Baker) Rodgers.
Albert was the husband of the late Madeline E. (Bowers) Rodgers
who died in 1999.
When he was a
child, he worked on a farm until he served in the US Navy from
1954 to 1962. He was a tool and dye maker for National Bearings
Company in Lancaster for 39 years. Albert was an avid NASCAR fan,
enjoyed listening to country music and enjoyed riding his Harley
Davidson. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and
loved his family dearly.
Albert is
survived by 4 daughters: Dawn Campos-Herrera, Cheryl Rosas, Alicia
Rodgers, and Cynthia Zorger; 2 sons: Kenneth Bowers and Randy
Griffith; and a sister: Linda Beatty. He was the proud
grandfather of 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1
great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter,
Carol Rodgers and a son, Keith Herring.
A Memorial
Service will be held at 12 PM on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the
Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 North George
Street, Millersville, PA 17551 with Pastor Preston Kay
officiating. Family and friends will be received from 11-12 PM at
the funeral home. Interment will be at Millersville Mennonite
Cemetery. Flowers can be sent to the funeral home or
