George A. Moyer, 79, of Lancaster, died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the Essa Flory Hospice Center in Lancaster, PA.  Born in Hamburg, PA, he was the son of the late Robert and Katie Moyer.  George was the husband of the late Jean Moyer, who passed away in September 2009, for 27 years.

George retired after 35 years of service as a Registered Clerk for the United States Postal Service.  A veteran, he served in the United States Marines.  He was a member of the Commercial Traveler's Club.  He enjoyed NASCAR Racing as Tony Stewart was his favorite driver.   

George is survived by a step-daughter, Michelle A. Gardner wife of Edward and a step-son, James Boice, Jr. companion of Jane Koenig all of Lancaster; three brothers, Sam Moyer of Lancaster, Paul Moyer of Hamburg, PA, and Bob Moyer of Lancaster; a sister, Helen Youse of Reading, PA.  In addition, he is survived by three grandchildren: Robert, David, and Katherine.  He is preceded in death by a brother, Arlan W. Moyer.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 9AM with Rev. James Donahoo officiating, at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E.
