Sharon Rosita Garcia Mercado, 61, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Conestoga View in Lancaster.

Born in New York City, NY, she was the daughter of Rose M. Ramirez Garcia of Chester County, PA, and the late Frank C. Garcia.

In years past, Sharon had been the co-owner of a grocery store in the Bronx NY for several years.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, liked to play bingo and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles.

She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lancaster.

Sharon is survived by her siblings: Frank E. Garcia Jr , Sandra R. married to Florencio Garcia and Robert married to Anita Garcia, all of Gap, PA, Gerald C. Garcia, partner of  Josephina, of Middle Island, NY and Christopher C. Garcia of Coatesville, PA,  by 4 nieces and nephews and by numerous aunts, uncle, cousins, and friends. Sharon was preceded in death by her brother, William C. Garcia.

Friends will be received on Friday, October 7, 2011 from 1030-11AM at the Chapel at Conestoga View, 900 E. King St., Lancaster, PA, with a Mass to follow at 11AM, the Rev. Daniel Mitzel as Celebrant.
