Thomas
P. McEvoy, 72, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, January 30,
2011 at Audubon Villa in Lititz, PA.
Born in
Lancaster, he was the son of the late Robert C., Sr. and Gertrude
M. Mattern McEvoy.
Thomas had
been an automotive salesperson for Lancaster County Motors on
Manheim Pike for many years. He had also worked previously for
Wolf Motors.
He was a
graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School and was a member of
Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
Thomas was a
US Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam
War
as a Specialist 4th class.
Tom enjoyed
playing golf and was a Green Bay Packers fan.
He is survived
by his daughter, Melanie married to Michael Carroll of Stamford,
CT,; his two grandchildren Will and Charlotte; his siblings:
Maureen married to Robert Farrell of Timonium, MD, Kathleen M.
married to Terry Diehl of Washington Boro, Robert C. McEvoy Jr.
and Marianne M. married to Thomas Sahd, both of Lancaster, and
Christine M. married to Kenneth Chabin of Reading and his uncle,
A. William Burkland of Lancaster.
Friends will
be received on Friday, February 4, 2011 from 10-11AM at Sacred
Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 558 W. Walnut St., Lancaster, PA,
with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11AM, the Rev.
Michael Messner as Celebrant. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic
