Mary
E. Heiney, 82, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at Essa Flory
Hospice Center surrounded by her family on Monday, October 24,
2011. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Roy and
Mary (Rineer) Shertzer. Mary was the loving wife of the late
Claude T. Heiney.
Mary enjoyed
playing bingo, trips to Atlantic City, dining out, Sight & Sound
Theater, and doing things with her family. She especially enjoyed
the cruise to Alaska with her daughter, Georgiann. She was a
member of Colemanville United Methodist Church.
She is
survived by two daughters: Sandy Turner, wife of Barry, with whom
Mary resided, and Lori Grove all of Lancaster; two sons: John
Heiney, husband of Kate, of New Jersey and Wesley Heiney of
Lancaster. Mary was a proud grandmother (Stick Nan) of nine
grandchildren: Josh, Holly, Christopher, Brandon, Shannon, Matt,
Bailey, Megan and Brittany; five great-grandchildren: Haley (Sweet
Pea), Sierra, Garrett, Aiden and Olivia. She was preceded in
death by four children: Phillip, Jay, George and Georgiann; five
sisters: Jeannie, Bess, Shirley, Gladys and Hilda; and three
brothers: Bob, Richard and Billy; and a son-in-law, Keith Grove.
Everybody who
knew Mary loved her and she loved them. Her family was the most
important thing to her. Mary would do anything for anyone because
that was the kind of lady she was. She will be truly missed by
everyone who knew her and especially by her loving family.
Family and
friends are welcomed to attend a Graveside Service at 1 PM on
Friday, October 28, 2011 at Colemanville United Methodist Church
Cemetery, 210 Colemanville Church Road, Conestoga, PA 17516 with
Pastor James Goudie officiating. In lieu of flowers,
