Raymond L.
Heim, 66, of Manheim, PA, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011 at
Lancaster General Hospital, surrounded by his family.
He was the
husband of Ann G. Nickerson Heim, with whom he would have
celebrated 29 years of marriage this coming July 2nd.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late George and Emma Beck
Heim.
Ray had worked
as a truck driver for Yellow Freight for 30 years, until his
retirement in 2006. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 771.
He had served
in the US Army Reserves as a Private First Class from 1969 to
1970.
Ray enjoyed
flea markets and auctions, loved cars, especially Corvettes, and
loved to cook, being known for his sausage stew. He had been
especially fond of his dogs, Rusty and Sandy. In years past, he
had drag raced at Maple Grove.
Ray was a very
kind, generous, and special man, who was known for making others
laugh with his great sense of humor. He will be sadly missed by
his entire family, especially by his two girls.
In addition to
his wife, Ann, he is survived by his daughters: RaeAnn M. married
to Alberto Gonzalez of Lancaster and Pamela L. Johns of
Mountville; his 5 stepchildren Cathy, Rick, Lisa, Deb, and Marcia;
his 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is also survived
by his brothers: George J. married to Connie Heim of Hagerstown,
MD and John C. married to Sherry Heim of Mohnton.
Friends will
be received on Friday, April 22, 2011 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr
Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA from
