Kathleen G. Heckman, 90, of Lancaster, died peacefully on Monday, August 8, 2011 at The Mennonite Home.  Born February 20, 1921 in Austin, Minnesota, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Luella Nemitz.  She was married for 44 years to the late Elmer Heckman, who died in 1988.

She served our country as a dental assistant in the United States Army.

“Kae” was an avid supporter of world mission, and enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

She is survived by three sons: Gary Heckman, husband of Lana, of Nevada, Donald Heckman, husband of Evey, of France, and Bruce Heckman, husband of Joyce, of Brownstown, PA; a sister: Marian Braybrook of Michigan; and a sister-in-law: Helen Hall of Norfolk, Nebraska.  She will be missed by her 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
