Dorothy
M. Gibble, 81, formerly of Manheim Township, died at her Willow
Valley Lakes Manor home on Friday, March 11, 2011. She was married
to Thomas B. Gibble for 57 years last November 28th. Born in
Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Neil J. and Mary K.
Golden Corey.
Dorothy graduated from West Catholic Girls High School,
Philadelphia, in 1947 and Philadelphia General Hospital as a
Registered Nurse in 1950. Dorothy served in the US Air Force as a
nurse during the Korean Conflict. A homemaker most of her life,
she also worked as a registered nurse employed by St. Joseph
Hospital for 15 years. Dorothy and Thomas were one of the founding
families of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, where she worked in
parish health ministry and was a member of the Knights of Columbus
Ladies Auxilliary.
In addition to Thomas, Dorothy is survived by five children,
Maureen E., wife of John Felix, Mount Joy, Patricia G., wife of
Michael Rinehart, East Petersburg, Diana M., wife of Brian Hicks,
Elkins Park, Karen F., wife of Ernie Blaine, Kutztown and Thomas
P., husband of Lee Ann Gibble, Gulf Breeze, FL; 15 grandchildren,
1 great-grandchild; one sister, Mary T., wife of John Fox, Upper
Darby; two sisters-in-law, Susan D. Wolf and Margaret Corey, and
two brothers-in-law, Salvatore Basile and H. Nelson Gibble. Three
brothers and two sisters preceded Dorothy in death.
Mass of
Christian Burial will be 11 AM Thursday, March 17, 2011 at St.
John Neumann Catholic Church 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster, PA with
Monsignor Richard A. Youtz as Celebrant. Visitations will be held
6-8 PM Wednesday from the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home &
Crematory 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA with The Recitation of the
Holy Rosary at 7:30 PM, and 10-11 AM Thursday at the church.
Final Commendation and Farewell will be Private at Indiantown Gap
National Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Dorothy's memory
to the St. Francis de Sales School, 917 S. 47th St.,

Dear Mr.Gibble, Girls and Tom,
I would like to express my sympathy for the loss of your wife
and mother. Loss of a loved one is never easy no matter what the
circumstances are. Although I have not seen you for many years,
I often reminisce in my mind of the years we spent together at
"Skyline" and hold those memories close and dear to my heart.
All of the "Gibble Girls" were always known as "Ladies" My God
comfort all of you during this difficult time.

I know that Dot was a very strong force in
keeping the family close. She was always very proud of the
accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She will be
deeply missed by all her knew her. How fortunate we are for

family. We're sorry we can't be with you to celebrate her life
in the Mass at St. John Neumann, but our prayers are with you,
your family, and especially for Dot. We have so many great
memories of our "Northbrook" family, and will always remember
Dot as a loving and caring person, with a great Irish wit.
May St. Patrick, on this St. Patrick's Day, embrace her on her
walk into Heaven.

Wow, so many of my memories of my childhood days in Northbrook
Hills involve your family and your mother. I am so sorry to
hear of your loss. I hope you will be comforted with all those
happy memories your mother helped to form.
