The
family of Louis J. Federici of Landisvile wishes to announce his
passing on Wednesday evening, following a long illness. Mr.
Federici was at home in the company of his wife Jean at the time,
who noted his death was peaceful. The couple would have
celebrated their 60th anniversary in the fall. Mr. Federici was
born in Calabria, Italy in 1928 and immigrated to the U.S. with
his parents as a child. He grew up in the Bronx, in New York City
where his father owned a popular tavern. Mr. Federici spent 25
years with American Airlines, both in New York and the Dallas,
Texas area, rising through the ranks from reservations agent to
management. Following his retirement the Federici's moved from
their home in Pleasantville, New York to Landisville to be in
closer proximity to their daughter and her children. In addition
to his wife, Mr. Federici leaves behind his sister, Olga Fleming
of New York City, two sons, Joseph Federici of Chicago, and Robert
Federici and his wife Lori, of Concord, North Carolina, his
daughter Emily Federici-Way and her husband Dennis, as well as six
loving grandchildren, Jeff, Alex, Daniel, Gus, Gabe, and Ashley.
Friends will
be received on Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 6-8PM at the Charles F.
Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA and
again on Monday, March 14th from 9-10AM. The Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Monday from St. Leo The Great
Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA, with Rev Peter
Hahn as Celebrant. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
