Richard
A. Collins, 75, of Conestoga, died Monday, April 11, 2011 at
Hospice of Lancaster County in Mount Joy. He was born in Newark,
NJ, son of the late Raymond and Helen Rowley Collins.
Richard
graduated from Harrison High School and was a member of Holy Cross
Catholic Church, both in Harrison, NJ. He served in the US Army
during the Vietnam War as a jet engine tester and airplane
mechanic. He tested jet engines for Curtis Douglas in Clearfield,
PA. Richard was also an industrial equipment salesman for various
companies. He was an avid antique car collector.
Richard is
survived by his former wife Elizabeth Dodenhoff, Conestoga; three
children, Andrew, husband of Patricia Collins, Conestoga,
Jacqueline Campbell, Hilton Head, SC, and Scott, husband of
Kathleen Collins, Ocean Gate, NJ; six grandchildren, Christopher
and Cory Collins, Cody and Samantha Campbell and Jenna and Emily
Collins; two great-grandsons, Taylor and Logan Collins; and two
siblings, Margaret "Peggy" Burke, Lititz and Edward, husband of
Genevieve Collins, Macungie. His brother Thomas Collins preceded
Richard in death.
A Visitation
will take place from 12 to 1 PM, Saturday, April 16, 2011,
followed by The Memorial Service at 1 PM, at the Charles F. Snyder
Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St., Millersville, PA.
Interment will be private. Please omit flowers. Contributions can
