Clara F.
Clark, 101, of Lancaster, wife of the late Russell W. Clark
entered into rest on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Quarryville
Presbyterian Home. Clara was born on September 17, 1909 in
Lancaster, PA to the late Andrew Jackson and Mabel Hess Flenard.
She spent her entire life in Lancaster. Clara was a graduate of
the all Girls High School on Chestnut and Charlotte Streets in
Lancaster and St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in
1930 as a registered nurse.
Clara worked
for several years as a registered nurse at the Alms House, located
on the corner of King and Broad Streets. After working 40 years as
a registered nurse, she retired as head registered nurse from 4
South at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lancaster, PA.
In 1941 she
married Russell W. Clark and had two children.
Clara is
survived by her two sons, Michael C. husband of Carol Clark,
Holtwood, PA, Patrick J. husband of Cathy Clark, New Port Richey,
FL, a granddaughter, Michelle Mielnik, a great grandson, Braiden
Mielnik and a niece Elaine Leknes, Dunnellon, Fl.
Relatives and
friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St.
Mary’s Catholic Church, Prince and Vine Streets, Lancaster on
Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 10:00AM with Rev. Leo Goodman as
Celebrant. Interment will be private. Friends may pay their
respects to the family from 9:30-10:00AM on Wednesday at the
church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Clara’s
memory to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster,
