Joan
J. Carbone, 87, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Sunday, May 29,
2011 at her residence.
She was the
wife of the late Anthony D. Carbone, who passed away in 1984. Born
in New York City, NY, she was the daughter of the late Paul and
Anna Dimino Maniscalco.
Joan had been
a homemaker, and was a longtime member of St. Anthony of Padua
Catholic Church.
Her family was
the most important thing in her life, and she loved spending time
with them. She also enjoyed music, dancing, and cooking.
Joan is
survived by her 2 daughters: Valerie A. Miller, fiancée of Gregory
Faiola, of Lancaster and Annette C. married to George Eckinger of
Elizabethtown; her two sons Vincent P. married to Nancy Carbone of
Harrisburg, PA and Anthony P. married to Kerry Carbone of Walpole,
MA; her 8 grandchildren Jason, Jonathan, Jeremy, Amanda, George,
Lindsay, Andrew, and Tony, and her 4 great grandchildren Alyssa,
Madalyn, Jordan, and Jameson. She is also survived by her sister,
Vera Ciambra of New York, her sisters-in-law Julie Carbone and
Rose Carbone and her many nieces and nephews.
Friends will
be received on Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 6-9PM, with a
recitation of the Rosary at 830PM, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr.
Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. Friends
may call again on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 10-11AM at St. Anthony
of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602,
with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11AM, the Rev
Daniel Mitzel as Celebrant. Interment in St. Peter’s Catholic
Cemetery in Elizabethtown. In lieu of flowers, please make
