Steve was a Columbia PA neighbor of ours for
several years. He was always friendly and had an upbeat
attitude. He was such a good, loving father to Zane!! Our
sincere condolences to his family in New Jersey, and to Megan
and her family...but,especially, to sweet Zane.
Love,
Carol, LeeAnne and our family.
Our deepest sympathy to your family,
especially Zane. I met Steve through my daughter, who was one
of his closest friends. His son was his life and he was a
wonderful father. He is missed by many whose lives he
profoundly touched. He was a giving, sweet gentle spirit and
had a heart for the Lord.
Although a tragic loss, I am comforted by the fact that I know
he is with The Father in Heaven.

Deepest sympathy to the family and especially
to Zane!
I met Steve at John Herr's and I will never forget the day that
we met. Steve had just started there a few days beforehand and
we were both in the breakroom on lunch break. Steve was just
sitting there, reading the paper and I was eating lunch. I had
asked him why he wasn't eating lunch and he said that he was
saving money so he could see his son Zane. So, I had shared my
lunch with him. It was that day that we formed a bond as
friends. Steve was such a kind, loving person and his son Zane
was his world. Steve touched the lives of so many people and he
will be greatly missed! He will forever hold a special place in
all our hearts!
We find comfort in knowing that God had his reasons and that
Steve is home with his heavenly father.

Sincere sympathy to Steve Buckholz's family,
friends, and his beloved son Zane.
We at John Herr's knew Steve as a kind and caring friend, who
never had a bad word for anyone. He was a doting father who put
Zane above all else.
We will miss him.
Sincerely,
Cindy Bishop

To the entire Buckholz family,
I was shocked to here of the news of Steve's passing. Just last
week my father and I were talking of a trip to Florida we took
as a family. It turned out you were in Florida the same time and
Steve called our hotel early in the morning as if we were still
back in Verona. Steve said" Hello is Paul there?" As my father
answered the phone he couldn't remember where we were. It was
just one of those funny moments in life. I will always cherish
my memories growing up with Steve. Grammar School thru High
School he was a big part of my life. Sleep-overs, Cub Scouts,
setting the woods on fire, pitching a tent in the back yard,
riding our bikes all over Essex County. It's a shame as we grow
we lose touch with the special people in our life. When I think
of my childhood there is no way for me to separate my memories
from Steve. He is in my earliest recollection growing up in
Verona. Steve was always a loyal and faithful friend and someone
who I'll never forget. It was always Steve Buckholz, Glenn
Burnett, and Paul Emma, the three 'Amigos.' We were always
together. It's just sad to have it end so suddenly. It's such a
small world I probably wouldn't have heard of this accident if
it were not for my brother Steve and his family who moved to
Lancaster Pa about 25 years ago. My sister-in-law Geri heard of
Steve's accident. As it turns out I think Steve lived only a few
blocks from my niece Jessica. I would love to hear more of what
happened and if any of the family would like to contact me that
would be wonderful. You can reach me at
pemma1@verizon.net or
home phone 973 228-8707 Caldwell NJ.
Again, I am so sorry for the sudden loss, it's a sad day when
these tragedies happen, and hard to figure out what the Lord's
plan is. But I will keep you all in my prayers and hope for
God's love for all of you.
With loving memories

Zane misses you. I asked him if he wants to
talk. He tells me you are a secret. He gets all serious. I worry
about him. I miss you too. We've got a great boy. He's alot like
you. Friendly, personable. Any time he and I are out I hear
that. If he spends time without me I hear the same. I hope you
are at piece. Watch over him. He needs you.
