Nancy Jane Brubaker

Nancy Jane Brubaker, 74, of Lancaster, passed away, Monday, February 14, 2011 at Hospice of Lancaster County Essa Flory Center. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances (Crossen) Hubert. Nancy was the wife of the late Charles Brubaker.

Nancy was a self employed house keeper who became very close and was a part of every family she served. Nancy enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at Prince Street Towers South Building, puzzles, traveling, especially day trips, and most of spending time with her family.

Nancy is survived by 5 children; Neva Jean Lane of Lancaster, Nita Joan Burkey of Lancaster, Noreen Jill Vance wife of Stacy of Lancaster, Natalie June Minnich of Robesonia, Pa., and John Albert Fasig Jr. husband of Kim of Manheim, 13 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son Nelson Spence Burkey, and a sister, Patsy Bush.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, February 18, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory 414 E. King St. Lancaster, PA 17602. Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Lancaster County 685 Good Drive. PO Box 4125. Lancaster, PA 17604. Dear Neva,
Thank you for keeping us in touch about your wonderful mother.  We were so sorry to hear of her passing.  Please accept our most heartfelt condolences!

Pete, Lex and I will always remember the important role she played in our lives.  She was w/ us for nearly 25 years!  And we adored her!  She was part of our family and a devoted, generous friend.  Our son Lex had known Nancy since he was 2 year's old!  She was part of his upbringing.

I have never met a more cheerful, loving person!  Your mother was so smart, she sang like a lark, had the artistic talents of a master and a "tell it like it is" manner that was honest and refreshing.   Every member of my family loved your mother and we will all miss her terribly.  W/ love and sympathy,

Dear family
Bill and I regret we are unable to attend the service tomorrow.  Bill has his annual check up appointment that was made 6 months ago.  We love Nancy very much and she will be missed as one of the family.  She was a kind soul and always had a joke to tell and that great smile to cheer us up.  We are sorry for your loss. God bless her.
