Gibb Booker

Gibb Booker, 66, of Lancaster, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at his residence.

He was the husband of Evelyn L. Neaves Booker, with whom he celebrated 16 years of marriage this past May 8th. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Howard and Arlene Booker.

Gibb had worked as a stone mason for Gribble Masonry for 20 years, until retiring in 2007. After retirement, he had been working part-time as a truck driver for Autopart International in Lancaster.

He was a member of Harvest Bible Church of Lancaster.

In addition to his wife, Evelyn, Gibb is survived by his children: Stephanie married to Tony Kessler of Downingtown, Christiane married to Christopher Viers of Dagsboro, DE, Brian married to Caitlyn Booker of Collegeville, PA and Katie Booker of Downingtown. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and by his sister, Gloria Jean Nies of Maytown.

Friends will be received on Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 1030-11AM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. Gibb and I met two and a half years ago when I started with Autopart. We became best of friends. We could relate to each other about most anything. The thing I will remember (and enjoyed most) was when we were both off work on a Wednesday and after he took the dogs to the park he would stop at my house on his way home. We would sit on the back deck and solve the problems of the world while the dogs rested. I will miss Gibb VERY MUCH. Work will not be the same without him there. My sincere sympathy to the family. Keep looking up to the ONE who gives strength in time of need.

Gibb, just wanted you to know you were one of my best friends I ever had. From day one when we first met we hit it off as friends. You made it fun to come to work everyday. You made me laugh all the time. It was truly a pleasure in my life that I ever got to know you. THANKS. You were the type of person that would give you the shirt off his back which is unheard of today. Rest in peace buddy, see you again in heaven. Mrs. Gibb you take care of yourself it will get somewhat better slowly but surely. Again, I mean this, if there is anything I can do please let me know. I m sorry that I can't be there, but I am so glad I got to talk to Gibb a couple of weeks ago. Please try to hang in there, believe me I know what your feeling. God bless you.
P.S. Gibb I will always miss the way we always played tricks on each other. You get the trophy though, when you put the hot pepper in my soda. I will never forget you.
