 Dorothy
L. Blickenderfer, 84, of Lancaster, passed away, Sunday, February
6, 2011 at Mennonite Home. Born in Monongahela, Pa., she was the
daughter of the late Samuel and Susan (Smagner) Wlahofsky. Dorothy
was the wife of Jack L. Blickenderfer with whom she celebrated 61
years of marriage this past April 1st.
Dorothy was a
homemaker who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed
summer vacations in Stone Harbor, monthly trips to Atlantic City,
and dancing the Polka.
Surviving in
addition to her husband Jack, is a daughter, Susan D. McCaughey
wife of Dennis of Lancaster. 3 grandchildren; Jared G. Sullivan
husband of Angela of Pittsburgh, Jessica L. Sullivan of Salunga,
and Daniel W. McCaughey of Lancaster, and a sister Amelia Reiland
wife of the late John of Pittsburgh.
She was
preceded in death by 3 sisters; Gladys Homa, Margaret Wagner, and
Anna Koschik, and 3 brothers; Samuel, John, and Andrew Wlahofsky.
A Funeral
Service will be held Friday, February 11, 2011 at the Charles F.
Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory 3110 Lititz Pike Lititz, Pa.
17543 at 11 a.m. Family and friends will be received Thursday,
February 10, 2011 at the Funeral Home from 6 p.m.-8 p.m and again
on Friday from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Interment will follow at
Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be
