Jeanne Sybil Applegate Beck, 92, formerly of Radnor, PA died Monday, June 27, 2011 at The Glen at Willow Valley, Lancaster, PA.  John Newlin Beck, her husband of 32 years, died in 1974.  Born in Allentown, Jeanne was the daughter of the late Charles Clifford and Hilda Yeager Applegate.

Jeanne graduated from Allentown High School and attended Cedar Crest College.  Prior to her marriage she worked for Mack Trucks.  Jeanne was a longtime member of the Wayne Presbyterian Church and more recently joined Highland Presbyterian Church in Lancaster.  She was a member and past treasurer of the Junior Service Board of the Neighborhood League of Wayne and volunteered for many years at the Neighborhood League Thrift Shop.  She also served as a reading partner for elementary school children. Jeanne enjoyed tennis, swimming and golf and belonged to the St. Davids Golf Club.  She loved to travel, and played duplicate bridge in her later years.

Surviving Jeanne are her children John N. Beck and wife Donna, of Carlsbad, CA and Stephanie B. Mason and husband John, of Glens Falls, NY; 5 grandchildren, Amy Kayal, Stephanie Mosher, Ashley France, Geoffrey Mason and Brooks Mason; and 6 great-grandchildren. Her son Major Christopher A. Beck and sisters Louise A. Schantz and Doris A Ritter predeceased her.
