Agnes B. Ziegler

Agnes B. Ziegler, 89, of Columbia died Monday, November 15, 2010 of Breast Cancer at St. Anne's Retirement Community. Born in Enhaut, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Barbara Schmidt Weiss.

Agnes was married 62 years to Lloyd S. Ziegler who died January 21, 2002. She worked in the Lancaster Catholic High School Cafeteria for 25 years.

Agnes was a member of St Anthony of Padua Church, where she helped with Boy and Girl Scouts, helped in the cafeteria, helped at the Christmas Bazaar and was a member of the Mother's Club at Church. She volunteered at St. Anne's Retirement Community with many activities.

She enjoyed camping and traveling.

Surviving are her two children: Ronald L. husband of Eugenia A. Ziegler, Manheim, CarolAnn wife of Barry F. Frey, Willow Street, five grandchildren: Michael L. Frey, Melissa A. Frey,, Amy S. wife of Brian Yoder, Lt. Adam M. husband of Michelle Darrah Ziegler, Aaron M. Ziegler and one great granddaughter, Brittany E. Frey.

Agnes is survived by four sisters: Mary McFadden, Lancaster, Anna Weems, Lancaster, Alice wife of Laurence Brydia, N.J., and Rita Boyer, Lancaster.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Loser, and two brothers: Martin F. Weiss, and George V. Weiss.

There will be a viewing at St. Anne's Retirement Community Chapel, 3952 Columbia Ave. Columbia, PA on Friday, November, 19, 2010 from 1-2:00PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange Street, Lancaster, PA on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 11:30AM with Rev. Daniel Mitzel as Celebrant. There will be a viewing at the Church on Tuesday from 10:30-11:30AM. Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Elizabethtown, PA. Please omit flowers. To her children, Carol Ann, and Family and son, Ronald and family.
  What a great person the world has lost.  A truer unselfish person, I never knew. The kindest of most, and always ready to lend a helping hand. Whether a stranger or an Amish Family she heard of in need. Aggie was there
with clothes, food and any help.  A model marriage she had.  Know as Hazel during her days at LCHS, we the family knew of her baking and cooking talents as they did. Agnes in WW11, wished to have been an nurse, but uanbl However more importantly, she was most compassionate in her heart and soul. Never did or would you hear from you, that she did this or that for you or others. Never reminded others that she should have been given back any thing, but
continued her acts of mercy, even while at St. Anne;s Home, giving some things to others in need. This is the true Christian person she was and lived. May my dearest Sister and the best one could have, REST NOW IN THE ARMS
OF OUR HEAVENLY FATHER.  Know that your Dad, Lloyd was there to greet on and had his birthday on Nov. 2nd. and will celebrate her 90th in Heaven.  Her parents, Frank and Barbara Weiss celebrated their Wedding Anniv. on Sunday Nov. 14th, 2010, and greeting her also. Do hug my son, Mike for me,Agnes, okay.  Prayers are with you, Carol, Barry, Fon and Genia, Michael, Melissa, Amy Brittany, Adam and Aaron.

Dearest Aggie, You were a fine, generous, kind lady.  You were always there to be of help whenever anyone needed.  Our world will not be the same without you, but The LORD need you in heaven and he called you.  We will go on, and your memory will always be there.  We will miss your pea salad, and your direct manner.
