On behalf of Schreiber Pediatric I wanted to
extend our sympathy to all of you on the loss of a loving
husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Sincerely,
William Jefferson
President
I had the pleasure of meeting Norm when my
Company began the current makeover over at Stumpf Field in
2003. Norm did the same project back in the Mid-seventies, with
the irony that he received building materials from Lancaster
City to Pipe and drains about the Park( Mayor Scott). The
amazing part of the story is that Stumpf Field was in Manheim
Township ( H.J.Gregg), and Norm got Mayor Scott to donate the
materials from Lancaster. We have a picture of Norm directing
operations at the field if any family member has not seen it.
I would like the family's blessing to plant in Honor of Norm for
his work and effort a tree in remembrance of his efforts at
Stumpf Field. We planted a tree today and would like to do a
plaque alongside the tree, reminding generations of his
efforts.
Norm was amazing with his help as I tried to formulate plans to
prepare for the 2003 rebuild project. Yes Stumpf Field was a
better place with Norm taking the reins and rebuilding a run
down field to a field of Dreams. I consider it an honor to have
been able to pick his brain for what was done to the field under
his leadership.
I cannot predict your loss and sorrow as he was a man's man in
all my dealings with him, and it was a learning experience just
to talk about baseball and life in general.
May he rest in peace,
Jeff Sweigart, owner of Stumpf Field.
Dear Marion and Family,
We are so very sorry for the loss of your husband, father and
grand/great grand father. Doug and I are both better people for
have knowing Norm. We have such good memories of the laughter
and times spent together. From sitting on the back porch swing,
to picking strawberries, to working in the garden and pond, all
are memories that we will cherish. He talked about his family
all the time and he loved you all very deeply. He will be
deeply missed.
Dear Yunginger Family,
How sad I was to open the newspaper and read of Norm's passing.
Please accept my deepest & most sincere condolences. Norm's
number one passion in life was his family and he truly loved you
all. Take comfort in knowing he lead a full and fruitful life
with so many wonderful accomplishments. I first learned of
Norm's deep sense of warmth, caring, understanding and
forgiveness 41 years ago, in the summer of 1969, when I
(accidentally) drove my 1963 Chevy Impala into his garage door.
The door was ruined and had to be replaced. The following day I
was a nervous wreck as he sat me down and talked to me. He never
yelled at me or even raised his voice. He simply told me to be
more careful whenever I "parked" in his driveway. I haven't seen
or spoken to Norm in many years, but, I've always felt my life
was enriched just by knowing him. He was loved by many and will
be missed by all. May God's love be with you in your time of
grief.
Your Friend,
Thom Colson
