Robert G.
Wolpert, 83, of Lancaster, peacefully passed away at home on July
5, 2010. Born October 21, 1927 in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of
the late Edward L. and Cecelia I. Miller Wolpert. He is survived
by his wife of nearly 59 years, Dorothy V. Fenninger Wolpert. He
was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Dress.
He is survived
by two sisters, Mary Rose Trauger of Lancaster, and Suzanne
Schmidt of York; by his son Robert G. Wolpert Jr of Lancaster; two
grandchildren, Haley E. Wolpert and Charles Roth; and by two great
grandchildren, Cynthia Roth and Elizabeth Roth.
Bob graduated
from Catholic High School in 1945. After graduation, he served two
years in the US Maritime Service and the US Coast Guard, and went
on to serve in the US Army, stationed in Japan. After discharge,
Bob went on to Franklin and Marshall College, graduating in 1951,
being a member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity.
Bob acquired
his CPA license and founded the accounting firm of Atkins and
Wolpert CPAs and later went on to work with Trout, Ebersole, and
Groff CPAs, retiring in 1991.
Bob was an
avid hunter, and enjoyed golf. He spent much time at Cross Gates
Golf Club, volunteering as a Marshall. He was also a member of St.
Mary's Catholic Church.
Services will
be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of
flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bob's memory to Hospice
of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr., Box 4125, Lancaster, PA
