Bertha E. Shaeffer, 87, of Lancaster died Tuesday night, November 16, 2010 at her home. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna Glass Ansted. Bertha was the wife of the late Charles H. Shaeffer who died August 22, 1996.

Bertha was employed and retired from RCA after 33 ½ years of service as a parts prep operator.

Surviving are her two daughters: Donna M. Consylman, Lancaster, Dawn L. wife of Robert L. Hess, Lancaster, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, three great, great grandchildren, three step great great grandchildren and a sister, Mary Fitzpatrick, Lancaster.

Bertha was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Rodney Ansted.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, Pa on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 2:00PM with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Burial Park. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Monday from 1-2:00PM. Please omit flowers.
