 William
H. Roland, 87 of Lancaster, passed away, Saturday, March 7, 2010
at Landis Homes. Born in Clay Township, he was the son of the late
William and Annie (Holsinger) Roland. William was the husband of
Alta (Newcomer) Roland with whom he celebrated 65 years of
marriage this past October 14.
William worked
as a farmer, self employed painter, and Custodian of Centerville
Elementary School. He was very active at Landis Homes and his
church Bethany Fellowship at Landis Homes.
Surviving in
addition to his wife Alta are 4 children; Judy Holsinger wife of
the late Philip of Lancaster, W. Lee Roland husband of Rosalie
(Hess) of Mechanicsburg, Lois Shirk wife of Robert of Leola, and
Joyce Zehr wife of Michael of Ephrata. 12 grandchildren. And 14
great grandchildren.
He was
preceded in death by 3 sisters, a brother, and 2 great
grandchildren.
A Funeral
Service will be held Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Landis Homes
Bethany Fellowship Chapel at 10 a.m. Family and friends will be
received at the Fellowship Chapel on Wednesday, March 10, 2010
from 6-8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 9-10 a.m. Interment will
follow at Salunga Brethren Cemetery.
