I am sorry for your loss. Mrs. Rogan was such a nice person, she always had a smile. I am glad I gave Ida a birthday cake even though it wasn't her birthday we all had a good laugh. Ida will not be forgotten. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

To the family of my cousin Ida,

Please accept our sincere sympathies on the loss of your wife, mother or grandmother.  I remember the evening that Chuck and Ida were married.  I was in fourth grade and it was the first wedding that I attended in my life.  So I asked many questions before the wedding and Mum explained the rules to me.  I wasn't real kean on the idea of kissing a girl even if it was Ida and it was the appropriate thing to do.  I saw many photographs of brides and wedding parties before that evening but never that actual wedding ceremony.  One of the funny tales at the reception was that Uncle Walter wore his bib overalls to the rehersal.  After all he had cows to milk and other farm chores to do.  Chuck will have to verify this story.

My childhood memories also include when my family would pickup Ida when she was in Nursing School and bring her to our home in Emsworth for the weekend.  I don't remember where we drove to but it was in the '46 Plymouth and it was always dark.  I was probably 5 at the time.  It was always a fun weekend because Ida would read to my brother Ron and me and played games with us.  She colored a lot better than either of us as well.  One evening my Dad decided to show off some of his talents by standing on his head.  My brother and I had to get in the show as well but kept falling down.  Mum passed as she only wore skirts.  But Ida pinned her skirt bottom closed and stood on her head.  I was impressed.
