Kathleen
C. Rineer, 89, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2010
at Lancaster General Hospital.
She was the
wife of Francis D. Rineer, Colonel, USMC (Ret.)with whom she
celebrated 67 years of marriage this past September 28th.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late John H. and
Bernadine C. McEvoy King.
Kathleen had
been a homemaker and had worked at the Hamilton Watch Co. prior to
World War II.
She was a
member of St. Marys Catholic Church and was a 1938 graduate of
Lancaster Catholic High School.
Known for being
a great cook, Kathleen enjoyed taking care of and spending time
with her family. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading.
In addition to
her husband, she is survived by her children: Francis D. "Chick"
Jr ESQ, Major, USMC (Ret.) married to Betty Rineer of Towanda, PA,
Annette L. Rineer-Tighe of Lancaster, Edna B. Purcell of
Lancaster, Margaret Mary "Peg" married to William Harlan of
Phoenix, AZ, Thomas J. married to Sandi Rineer of Columbia, PA,
Kathleen T. married to Samuel Hernandez of Millersville, John L.
married to Noreen Rineer of Lancaster, Paul J. married to Karen
Rineer of Columbia, David A. Rineer of Lancaster, Josephine E.
"Jody" married to Raymond Ziegler of Tyrone, PA, Bridget A. Rineer
of Philadelphia, and Joseph W. Rineer of Columbia; her 20
grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by her daughter Mary Alice Rineer and her son Patrick J.
Rineer.
Friends will be
received on Friday, August 13, 2010 from 9-10AM at St. Mary's
Catholic Church, 119 S. Prince St., Lancaster, PA 17602, with the
Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10AM, the Rev. Leo Goodman
as Celebrant. Interment in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu
of flowers, please make contributions in Kathleen's memory to St.
Mary's Catholic Church Flower Fund (address above), or to the
Resurrection School, 521 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 or to
Lancaster Catholic High School, 630 Juliette Ave, Lancaster, PA
