Prokopi
Prokopis, 90, of Lancaster died Friday, August 27, 2010 at his
home. Born January 15, 1920 in Kos Greece, he was the son of the
late Demosthenes and Maria Papagelis Prokopis. He was the husband
of Kondoula Mastrogiorgis Prokopis and they were married for 63
years.
Prokopi
immigrated to America in 1967. He was loved by his friends and
family both in Greece and the US.
He was
employed by RCA Corporation for 18 years as a parts assembler. He
was a member of Annunciation Orthodox Greek Church.
Mr. Prokopis
enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, fig trees, grapevines and
sharing his harvest along with a lighthearted joke with all those
who loved him.
Surviving
besides his wife is a son: Demo Prokopis, Lancaster, a
granddaughter, Connie Hatzikalimnios, son in law Emmanuel
Hatzikalimnios, a sister, Domniki Cappas, Ohio, niece and nephew,
Chris and Dea Karas, along with their children and grandchildren.
He was
preceded in death by his daughter, Elaine Hatzikalimnios.
A Funeral
Service will be held at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 64
Hershey Ave, Lancaster, Pa on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 10:30AM
with Rev. Alexander Goussetis officiating. Interment will follow
at Conestoga Memorial Park. There will be a viewing at the church
on Monday Night, August 30, 2010 from 7-9:00PM and again on
Tuesday morning from 10-10:30AM. Contributions may be made in
