Thomas
Anastassios Pavlakis, 66, of Lancaster, PA passed away on November
1, 2010 at Hospice of Essa Flory after a courageous battle with
cancer. He was born in Alexandria, Egypt to the late John and
Kalliope (Fotini) Pavlakis.
Tom is
survived by his wife Leona A. (Flickinger) Pavlakis. They would
have celebrated there 44th wedding anniversary on
November 5.
He was a
member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
He was a
lifetime machinist he worked for G.G. Schmidt, RCA, and retired in
2007 from Johnson & Johnson.
Tom enjoyed
spending time with his family, friends, driving his Corvette,
gardening, and being an all around handyman.
Surviving in
addition to his wife, a daughter, Maria L. Querry, wife of Michael
E., of Lancaster, son, Thomas Pavlakis, Jr., of Lancaster, three
grandchildren, Christian, Ryan, and Corinne, a brother, George
Pavlakis and sister Nitsa Pavlakis, both of Greece. He was
preceded in death by a step-mother Eleni Pavlakis.
Relatives and
friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Service on
Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 10:30am at the Annuniciation Greek
Orthodox Church 64 Hershey Ave. Lancaster, PA 17603 with the Rev.
Alexander Goussetis officiating. Viewings will be held at the
church on Wednesday from 6-8pm with a Trisagion Service at 7pm and
on Thursday from 10-10:30am. Interment will be in Mellinger
Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may
be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, or to Hospice
of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 4125 Lancaster, PA 17604.
