Melanie T. Schmitt Mills, 89, of Lancaster died Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Maple Farms. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late August F. Schmitt Sr. and Florence Geiter Schmitt.

Melanie was a homemaker and the wife of the late Ralph S. Mills Sr. who died in 1995.

Surviving are four children; Ralph Mills Jr., Thomas Mills, Jo-Ann wife of Lee Michaels, Melanie Mills all of Lancaster, five grandchildren, one great grandson and a brother, August F. Jr. husband of Elizabeth Schmitt, Laurel , MD.

She was preceded in death by a son, William J. Mills.

The family wants to give special thanks for the wonderful care given to Melanie by the staff at Maple Farms and Hospice of Lancaster County.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 11:00AM with Rev. Norman Hohenwater officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman, PA. There will be a viewing on Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 6-8:00PM and on Monday morning from 10-11:00AM. at the funeral home.
