Clarence H.
Meikrantz, 91, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, February 20,
2010, at Manor Care of Lancaster.
He was the
husband of the late Imogene Helmes Meikrantz, who passed away in
2003. Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late George W. and
Florence L. Evans Meikrantz.
Clarence had
worked in maintenance at the Hamilton Arms Nursing Home and at the
Host Farms Resort.
In his early
years, he had played drums in the Jack Bogash Band, a swing band
in Hazleton.
He is survived
by his children: Barbara Weist of Lancaster, Richard E. Meikrantz
of Baltimore, MD, and Ronald W. married to Donna Meikrantz of
Lancaster; 7 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Rittenhouse, his two
sisters Ethel Lathrop and Marion Ressler, and his brother Walter
G. Meikrantz.
Friends will
be received on Friday, February 26, 2010 at the Charles F. Snyder
Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA from 10-11AM, with
the Funeral Service to follow at 11AM, Chaplain Donna Shenk.
Interment in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
please make contributions in Clarence's memory to Hospice of
Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
