Jean S. Mauzy,
91, of Lancaster, passed away, Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Conestoga
View Nursing Home. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the
late Nora Burkholder Suter and Paul
Frederick Suter. Jean was the wife of the late Michael "Mike"
Mauzy who died in 2002.
Jean was employed by Wilbur Chocolate, Keystone Pretzel, and
Widder Silk Mill. She was a member of Ross St. United Methodist
Church. Jean loved fishing and even went hunting. She was an avid
reader, crafter, and doll collector. Jean loved a good meal out at
a restaurant and had many special friends who were quite
meaningful to her, but her favorite thing of all was her family.
She was devoted to her family who she loved deeply. Her son,
grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought Jean deep joy and
immeasurable pride, and she maintained a lifelong loving
relationship with her sisters.
Jean is survived by a son, James "Jim" Mauzy husband of Barbara of
Kitty Hawk, NC; four grandchildren: Bronwynn March, wife of Steve,
Brooke Mauzy, Herb Mauzy, husband of Shannon, and Elizabeth Mauzy;
and three great grandchildren: Kendyl Jenkins, Jordan March, and
Michael Mauzy.
A Funeral Service will be held Monday, August 2, 2010 at Ross St.
United Methodist Church, 312 E. Ross St., Lancaster 17602 at 10
A.M. with Rev. Roseann Goldberg officiating. Family and friends
will be received at the church before the service from 9:30 A.M. -
10 A.M. Interment will follow at Riverview Burial Park, Duke St.,
Lancaster.
