Victoria E.
Manolakis passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Homestead
Village at the age of 91. She was the daughter of Evangelos and
Maria Manolakis and a lifelong resident of Lancaster.
Victoria
retired from RCA in 1982 where she was employed in the payroll
department for 39 years. In her retirement years, she became an
administrative assistant at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox
Church. She volunteered 20 years of full time service in that
capacity in the parish church she loved and belonged to all her
life. Victoria was active in Bible Study Groups, sang in the
choir, taught Sunday School, served on the Parish Council, worked
for the Annual Food Bazaar and was an active member of the
Philoptochos Society ("Friends of the Poor").
Well traveled
around the world and to many states of America, Victoria's sunny
personality and quick smile endeared her to people wherever she
went.
Homestead
Village became Victoria's residence during the final six years of
her life. There, too, she was admired and loved for her kind
personality and smile.
Victoria was
preceded in death by three sisters: Anastasia (Tasia) Pangas,
Frances Prapopoulos, and Venice Kitsis, and a nephew, Nicholas
Pangas. One first cousin remains, Venice Dontis of Lancaster.
