Dear Carolyn, Erin and Catherine,
When I came to Lancaster over 40 years ago as a pastor at
Highland Presbyterian Church, I went to Jack as my barber. He
became my barber and friend for all those years. He even took me
fly fishing on one occasion. I was not his best student. We have
had many conversations over the years covering every subject
imaginable. I am grateful to you Carolyn for letting me know
Jack was at Hospice. I visited him on Friday, held his hand and
had a silent prayer. I returned Sunday to discover he had
passed on Friday night. I will always remember him as a bright,
humorous and caring friend. The world is a better place because
he lived in it. He will be deeply missed.
Cordially,
Jim Hanna
Carolyn,
I am very sorry to hear about Jack. I hope you and your family
can find peace and healing in this time of mourning.

Dear Lorah Family,
Please accept my most sincere condolences on your loss. He will
be dearly missed by so many people. Jack had been cutting my
hair for over 30 years (since I was a teenager), and beyond the
service he provided he was such a kind man and a dear friend.
Once a month I could look forward to good conversation and
stories as well as sound advice if I asked for it. The haircut
was almost secondary. I will miss him dearly and always
remember him fondly.

Carolyn & Family,
I am so saddened by the loss of Jack. I'm sure he was a
wonderful husband & father, but to me he was not only the guy
that cut my hair for 43 years but a very good friend. I will
never forget him & the many stories we shared in the shop. I
will miss him & will share in your loss, as he truly was a
person who had a very positive affect on many people. You are in
my prayers.

It was so sad to hear of Jack's passing.
Haven't seen him since High School, but I always remember him as
a very good person. May you all find peace in his having lived a
good life.
With warm regards,
Dean Wenrich
Dear Lorah Family,
I moved to Lancaster about 6 years ago and started using Jack’s
services at the recommendation of a colleague. Not only did
Jack cut my hair just right, he was also interesting to talk
with and an overall good guy. I have a job that is stressful
at times and would sometimes enter Jack’s shop with many things
on my mind but always left with a clear head. I will miss my
every 6 week visits to the simple barbershop that appeared on
the surface to offer so little compared to many modern hair
salons but, because of Jack, offered so much more.
My sincere condolences,
Douglas J. Planeta
Dear Carolyn and family,
We were so sorry to hear about Jack's passing. Remembering him
from high school, he was always a mild-mannered, pleasant
person. Hopefully, in the days to come, you will find peace just
as he now has. We send our deepest sympathy to you and your
family.

My wife and I were saddened
by the news of Jack's passing. Her now grown sons had their
hair cut by him; he always did such a great job. He came highly
reccomended when I moved here. And he and I had some great
conversations. I will miss my trips to his shop.

Carolyn and family,
You have my deepest sympathy in the loss of your husband/father.
You and Jack were classmates of mine. I recall talking with you
both, I believe, at our 35th year reunion.
May you find peace and strength in your memories.
Take Care!
Love,
Cheryl (Henly) Fausnacht
Dear Carolyn and Family,
We have many pleasant memories from Jack's days in Adamstown.
Fred and Jack were close friends through elementary school in
Adamstown and high school at Cocalico Union. They used to enjoy
playing chess and participating in boy scouts. We are sad that
Jack has passed away much too soon. May God bless you all with
comfort in the assurance that Jack lives on in Heaven, and may
God give you strength and guidance as you go forward with your
own lives.

I don't know exactly how
long Jack was my barber, but I believe it has been since 1970 or
so. We had a lot of fun over the years during our monthly
visits. Jack was a true people person and was able to relate
to and keep the conversation flowing with all his diverse
clientele.
I was saddened by his sudden illness and passing and I will miss
him greatly. In his absence, I switched to my wife's salon and
beautician and it just isn't the same......
My condolences to all his family and friends.

Jack was a great man. He
was my barber for 20-25 years, but he was much more than that.
He was a profound source of good advice and always had an
interesting story. I will always miss our political
conversations we held together. His wisdom, guidance, and kind
nature will be missed. God Bless Him!
