Lance
T. Lawrence, 89, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Lancaster, PA passed
away on January 17, 2010 at The Place at Tanque Verde. He was born
in Morgantown, WV to the late George and Barbara (Konkoly)
Lawrence.
Lance was a
former member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He attended
St. Anthony Grade School and was a 1941 Lancaster Catholic High
School graduate.
He graduated
from LaSalle University.
Lance served
his country in WWII as a Master Sargeant with the US Army Air
Corps in the North Pacific.
He was a
Liaison and Counselor with the US Government and worked closely
with the Government of Japan and Korea for twenty plus years.
Lance retired
in Tucson, AZ and has lived there the past twelve years. He was an
avid golfer.
He is survived
by a brother, Wilbert Lawrence, of Lancaster and many nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and John
Lawrence, and sister Mary Fry.
Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic
Church 501 E. Orange St. Lancaster, PA 17602 on Thursday, February
18, 2010 at 11am. A visitation will take place at the church from
10:30-11am. Final farewell and commendation will be in the St.
Anthony's Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the
Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard. Arrangements made by the Charles F.
