 Raymond
L. Kerchner, 83, of Lancaster, Pa died Sunday night, October 31,
2010 at Conestoga View. Born in York, he was the son of the late
Monroe and Margaret Resh Kerchner. Raymond was the husband of
Doris A. Shelley Kerchner and they celebrated 65 years of marriage
on August 15, 2010.
Raymond was
retired from H.E. Fortna after 35 years of service in sales. He
was a member of Leola United Methodist Church where he sang in the
choir, served as Sunday School Superintendent and helped with the
Youth Group.
He served in
the Merchant Marine, from December 7, 1941 to December 31, 1946.
Surviving
besides his wife are four children: Robert L. husband of Lois
Kerchner, New Holland, PA, Donald E. husband of Sharon, Lebanon,
CT, Gary L. husband of Cynthia Kerchner, Leola, PA, Yvonne M. wife
of Paul Geib, Lancaster, PA., seven grandchildren,
seven great
grandchildren and a brother, Morris husband of Sara Kerchner,
York, PA.
He was
preceded in death by a brother, Morgan Kerchner.
A Funeral
Service will be held at Leola United Methodist Church, 7 W. Main
Street, Leola, Pa on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM.
Entombment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster. There
will be a viewing at the church from 10-11:00AM on Friday.
