 Thomas
R. Houck, 66, of Lititz. PA. died Wednesday night January 27, 2010
after a long, courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Ephrata,
he was the son of Ira Houck, Jr. of Lancaster and the late Judith
Wimer Houck.
Tom was the
husband of Donna Martin Houck and they were to celebrate their 30th
Wedding Anniversary on March 1, 2010.
He was a lead
mechanic for J.L. Clark Manufacturing Company for 48 years.
He attended
Lancaster County Bible Church
His interests
include hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He had a passion for
animals and for life. He loved his cabin in Potter County.
He enjoyed
repairing things, a Jack of all trades. He was a very ethical man,
whom could always be counted on to help those in need.
Tom enjoyed
spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Surviving
besides his wife and father are his children: Thomas R. Houck Jr.,
Lancaster, Rob husband of Bethann Greenawalt, Lititz, Michelle
wife of Scott Doutrich, Lititz, Ryan husband of Megan Houck,
Raeford, NC., Tammy Guck and Todd Houck both of AZ., his
grandchildren: Tommy III, Heather, Dayvid, Dylan, Alexis, Jason,
Emma, Caleb and a sister, Kathleen Bennett, Willow Street.
He was
preceded in death by a sister, Louise Bowman.
A Funeral
Service will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and
Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA on Tuesday, February 2, 2010
at 3:00PM. Interment will be private and held at the convenience
of the family. Relatives and friends may pay their respects to the
family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1-3PM. In lieu of
flowers, contributions may be made in Tom's memory to The Caron
Foundation, Attn: Development Office, 243 N. Galen Hall Rd.,
