L. Marilyn
Frailey, 84, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, December 20, 2010
at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Glenarm, KY, she was the
daughter of Leonard H. and Hattie G. (Gossett) Thompson. Many of
you in KY knew her as "Chunny". Marilyn was the wife of Robert R.
Frailey. They met, and married, when Marilyn was serving on the
staff of the United States High Commissioner for Germany and Bob
was stationed at the U.S. embassy, Bonn, West Germany. They were
married 55 years.
Surviving in
addition to her husband Bob are two children, Michael Frailey,
husband of Barbara Hall; and Cynthia Ann Keil, wife of William
Keil.
A kind,
thoughtful soul, Marilyn always asked how she could help; and
maintained many bird baths and feeders. One of her nieces wrote:
"There won't be a flower, bird, squirrel, deer or garden landscape
in which I won't remember Marilyn". She would be pleased to know
that you thought of her when helping others or caring for
wildlife. Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience
of the family. To send an online condolence please visit

Dear Mike and Family!
Just learned of your mother's death last night and we were so
shocked! We had no idea anything had happened or that she was
in the hospital. Please accept our deepest sympathies on your
loss! I will always remember Marilyn for how welcoming she was
when we first moved into the neighborhood. She and Gerry rang
our door bell one morning when I was here to clean before we
moved in and introduced themselves. Whenever there seemed to be
a new bird or new animal activity in our yard I only had to give
Marilyn a call to get all the info! And we loved hearing all
the stories of the past neighborhood picnics! She and Bob had
all the details and the pictures to prove it!
How is your Dad coping with the circumstances? And is he with
you now? A sudden series of events for him to deal with now.
We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers!
God Bless,
Linda and John Pecorari
We are so sad about the loss of Aunt Chunny.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.
Our love,
Larry and Sherry (Thompson) Darling and David Thompson
Bob, Cindy and Mike and all family,
We are very sad about the passing of Chunny, (Aunt Chunny to
most of us) and want you to know that our thoughts and prayers
are with you. When I told Mom about her passing, she was very
moved and wanted to make sure that we let you all know how much
she thought of her sister, and talked about some of the old days
in Kentucky. We are all saddened that this day would come, but
the occasion allows us to remember the great days that have gone
by, particularly in Kentucky and Myrtle Beach.(Can anyone forget
the violent Stomach Flu sweeping through a beach house of 30
something people in one week and only a handful never got it,
including Aunt Chunny!)
All the Best,
Mike, Debbie, Kalee, Cody and Jane Miller
