My deepest sympathy on the passing of Marianne. I worked with her in the proof room at Armstrong. She was great to work with and had a super sense of humor. I can still hear her answering the phone "Proof room." I'll never forget her amazing singing voice. She could easily have made it in show business. She once mentioned that she would have liked to sing with one of the major singing groups in America (don't remember which one). Over the years we lost contact, but I'll never forget her. The choir in heaven will be one voice stronger.

Aunt Marianne was a life long friend of mine and was one of my mother's dearest friends. Marianne is now in God's kingdom with her beloved husband Lynn and my mother Scottie ....They are probably playing a round of golf and having cocktails....
You will be missed but I know I will see you again someday.

I was Peter Brown's predecessor as Organist of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving there from 1964-1972. During my tenure, Marianne was a mainstay of the Choir and a remarkable and treasured soloist. It is a commonplace among musicians that many singers seem to be musical in inverse proportion to the quality of their vocal equipment, but Marianne was superbly musical as well as possessed of an extremely fine voice. If she remarked that she thought a piece of music should go in thus and such a way, one paid attention, for she was probably right, which is not true of most singers. In fact, Marianne was the most musical singer I ever encountered during a 53-year career as an organist, and a gracious person to know and work with into the bargain. I believe that had she sought advanced training at a conservatory of music she could have had a career on a national scale, like John Darrenkamp had. Now she is gone, and we are left with memories. May the Everlasting Father welcome her into the Heavenly choir.

Marianne was a dear friend of mine and I will miss her terribly!!! We grew closer and closer since Lynn's death exactly 2 years ago. I will never forget her angelic soprano voice and the fun we had doing Armstrong Shows and Kiwanis Shows. Her surgery 12 years ago took away her singing voice, but NOW she joins the heavenly choir and her voice soars once again. Sing on, Marianne, and always know that you were loved!!!

She was an elegant lady, who was an inspiration to us all. She and Ervin shared a deep and special bond.  It was my privilege and honor to have been her physician for over 20 years.  She leaves a memorable and unique song in each of our hearts.
