John R. Broderick, Sr. |
|
John
R. Broderick, Sr., 64, of Ronks, PA entered into eternal rest on
July 30th, 2010 following a brief illness. John was
born in Meyersdale, PA. He was the son of the late Robert D. and
Ilene Broderick of Lancaster, PA. John is survived by his loving
wife-Sonya, a son- John R. Jr., fiancé of Abbey Pack, and a
daughter. He was also blessed with four grandchildren, and one
great-grandchild. John has three surviving brothers: Ray,
husband of Darla/Lancaster, PA, Gary, husband of Fay/Conestoga,
and Robert J., husband of Sandra/Strasburg, as well as a special
niece/and shared daughter, many beloved nephews, an Uncle/Brother,
James "Jimmy" Broderick of Berlin, PA.
John was the
founder of Heritage Homes. Since 1965 he made his living in, and
has forever left his imprint on the industry, of factory built
housing. He was an active member of PMHA, a member of F.O.P. Red
Rose Lodge 16, a member of the Elks Club of Lancaster County, and
a board member of Eagle River Homes in Leola, PA. However, his
success in industry is far outmatched by his success in touching
the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Johns family
and loved ones lost a man who was larger than life, and whose
absence leaves this world feeling like a smaller, darker place.
Mere words cannot express the loss to those who knew him, but we
are left with more than just words. We have wonderful memories of
a man who inspired many. Everything he did was "larger than life"
- including his never ending generosity of himself, toward
others. He was an inspiration to many, a brother to three, a
father to some, a grandfather to a few, a husband to one, and a
friend to all. This man, who will forever be known to all, as
being "larger than life", has taught us all, to be better, to do
better, to work harder, and to love unconditionally. If you
mention the name John Broderick, many will remark of how he
un-selfishly helped them when they were in need. Not only did he
love us, but he wasn't afraid to show us. Until the blessed
day that we meet again, we love you with all of our hearts JB.

Dear Sonya and family,
John will be forever in the lives of all he touched. He was a
teddy bear of a man - friend to people young and old from all
walks of life, a sweet man with dogs - and lovely friend. Ted,
David and I are blessed that he shared our path of life.
with love and sympathy,

Dear Sonia,
It is with my deepest sympathies that I send my condolences on
the death of John. I am so sorry to hear that he died, but I
know now that at least his suffering is over. He was so positive
& strong in the way he battled his disease. I can't believe how
he actually made it easier for all of us to deal with it, in
spite of his pain. Please pass on my sympathies to all and as
well all of his Heritage Homes staff. This has been very
difficult for me as we had a wonderful working relationship, I
can't even begin to imagine for those that worked with him on a
daily basis. People like John just do not exist any longer and
he is going to be dearly missed by all. May God's blessings be
with you all.
Love, Denise Miller Almanza, Denise's Centro de Servicios
With all my love,
Cindy

loss of John. I remember waiting on him at Land & Sea. He was
always such a nice man... he will be missed by many. God bless
you all.

I was a relative to John in the first part of
his life. He was a great man & I have lots of memories of family
meals when our kids were small. It seems unreal that he is gone
at such a "young" age. He will be missed. God bless all his
survivors & may you be comforted by friends & memories.

Sonya,
Its so hard to even begin to find the words to describe Uncle
John. His written obituary only touched the surface of what you
and I know about that wonderful, "unlike any other" man. We can
only hope that he taught us how to love, how to give more than
you have, and do anything in your power to make others feel the
same. These are only a few of the things that he stood for, you
and I know that there is soooooo much more to him. I thank God
for the 42 years that I had with him in my life, and all of the
years I had with you two together, as the important priceless
people you are. You and I have many more, and will try to
continue his legacy of love toward others. That I promised him,
and will do with you. I love you with all of my heart.....those
"Broderick Family" words will go on forever through all of us,
and Uncle John was a very big part of that, I don't think many
of us ever left his presence, or signed a card for him without
writing or uttering I love you with all of my heart. He just
put new meaning behind those 8 little words. He is missed so
much more than anyone will ever know, and like Dad said, he's
with nanny and pop-pop.... laughing about all of the naughty
things that they've missed!!

Sonya,
You and John have been in my thoughts and prayers every day
since he got sick in Daytona. I know we only knew John in his
"play time" at the races, but we all loved him and all the
Brodericks. We always felt like you were all family. We love
you and will miss John terribly. Sonya, if there is anything I
can do, please don't hesitate to ask. I know we're far away in
miles, but not in spirit.
With love and sympathy,
Don and Sue Cook and family
