Edward
Diller "Ed" Barto, 79, of Lancaster passed away on Sunday, March
14, 2010 at Lancashire Hall. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of
the late Edward J. and Beatrice Gunzenhouser Barto.
He was the
husband of Ann M. Zurcher Barto.
Edward was a
1948 graduate of J. P. McCaskey. He served with the US Army in the
Korean War and spent two years in Panama.
Early
employment was with PennSupreme and Queen Dairy. He also worked
for several used car dealers as a salesperson. Ed retired from the
Fulton Bank as a Security Guard.
Ed was a
featured Rock' n Roll Singer at Tom Paine's Night Club in
Lancaster for 10 years.
Surviving
besides his wife is a son: Mark C. husband of Cassie Barto, two
grandchildren: Gavyn T. and Eden M. Barto, two sisters: Gladys
Hertzler, Dolores Stehman, and three nieces.
A Memorial
Service will be held at St Andrew United Church of Christ, 701 N.
Lime Street, Lancaster on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 11:00AM.
Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the
family. Friends may pay their respects to the family from
10-11:00AM at the church on March 27, 2010. Memorial contributions
if desired may be sent to St. Andrew United Church of Christ.
