Dorothy
G. "Dot" Walter, 78, of Lancaster, PA passed away on Sunday,
November 22, 2009 at Lancaster General Hospital. She was born in
Mt. Joy to the late Linden and Rhoda Mae (Hilt) Beaston.
Dot is
survived by her husband, Richard C. Walter of Cabbage Hill,
Lancaster, PA. They celebrated sixty-one years of marriage.
Dot was
formerly employed by Hamilton Watch Co. and Schick before becoming
a homemaker for her family.
She was a
lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Dot enjoyed
gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially
her grandchildren.
In addition to
her husband, Dot is survived by two sons, Richard "Rick" Walter
Jr., husband of Donna, of Lancaster, Ronald "Ron" Walter, husband
of Karen, of Willow Street, five grandchildren, three great
grandchildren, three sisters, Shirley Eshelman, Denise Squibbs,
both of Marietta, Rhoda Andrews, of Ironville, brother, Charles
Beaston, of Columbia, two step-brothers, Jeff Frey, of Marietta,
James Albert, of Elizabethtown, an aunt Thelma Eshelman, wife of
Lester, of Lancaster, and many nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by five brothers, Robert, Jay, Walter,
Christian, and James Beaston.
A Mass of
Christina Burial will take place from St. Joseph Catholic Church
440 St. Joseph St. Lancaster, PA 17603 on Monday, November 30,
2009 at 11am with the Msgr. Thomas Smith as Celebrant. A closed
casket visitation will be held at the church from 10-11am. Final
farewell and commendation will be at St. Joseph New Catholic
Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Dot's memory to
