Carole "Joan" Troast, 67, beloved Nana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Lancaster General Hospital.  She was the wife of Henry "Buck" Troast, married for 47 years. 

Born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 21, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Herbert H. and W. Blanche Kirkland  Donehoo.

Joan was an active volunteer in a classroom at Manor Middle School, Penn Manor School District.  She loved working with her students and was a great help.  She also enjoyed computer games, playing with her sweet dog, "Buffy," and reading.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters, Mary A., wife of Jack Rudd, of Willow Street; Bernadette M., wife of John Sheckart, of Mount Joy; and Ellen E., wife of Clyde Newcomer, of Millersville; five grandchildren, Nicole and Ashley Graby, Lauren and Alex Newcomer and Connor Sheckart; three brothers, Herbert and Robert Donehoo of Atlanta, GA and Bill Donehoo of Orlando, FL; and her sister Martha Graham of Marietta, GA.

A viewing will take place at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 441 N. George Street, Millersville, PA, on Friday from 10 to 11AM. The funeral will follow at 11 AM in the funeral home, with the Reverend Jim Goudie officiating. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
